1. Storage in Pure Muslin
Always store silk sarees in breathable unbleached cotton or pure mulmul covers. Avoid plastic bags that trap humidity and can oxidize zari.
2. Periodic Airing
Air your sarees every 3–4 months in indirect, shaded breeze. Refold along different crease lines to prevent fiber stress.
3. Dry Clean Only
Never hand-wash or machine-wash tested zari sarees. Always use professional dry cleaning with reputable bridal garment cleaners.
Golden Rules for Ironing and Steaming
• Iron on Reverse Side: Always iron the saree on the reverse side using medium-to-low silk setting.
• Use a Cotton Press Cloth: Place a thin muslin or cotton cloth between the iron and the saree to protect the zari finish.
• Avoid Water Spritzing on Zari: Do not spray water directly onto metallic zari threads while ironing as water droplets can cause spotting.
